Home Health Pre-Claim Review (PCR) Unique Tracking Numbers (UTNs) Should Not Be Included on the Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP)

Published 01/20/2021

The Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP) process does not change under Home Health Pre-Claim Review (PCR). Providers are not required but are encouraged to submit the RAP prior to submitting the PCR request in order to have the home health benefit period post to the Common Working File (CWF). The Unique Tracking Number (UTN) is not required on the RAP and should only be placed on the final claim. For electronic claims on the UB04, the UTN will follow the treatment authorization code and be keyed in positions 19 through 32.
